Why does a single AI answer not tell you whether you are visible?

The same prompt on the same model returns different brands across runs, so a one-shot check can report "not cited" and "cited" for the same brand minutes apart. Can it prove that a change improved your AI visibility?

Only with a control. Engines drift on their own, so a before-and-after difference cannot be credited to your work by itself. Measurements are compared across test and control prompts, and where the underlying assumption has not been tested, the result says so rather than presenting the number as proof.

What will it not tell you?

Anything it could not actually measure. A check that cannot obtain real data is reported as skipped with a reason rather than a guessed pass or fail, and a result too small to support a claim is marked provisional with the sample size it would need.
